Which files can I import?+
CSV (comma, semicolon or tab separated), Excel (.xlsx, .xls) and OFX (.ofx, .qfx). Other formats such as MT940, CAMT or QIF are not read.
How are the columns found?+
By their headers (Date, Description, Amount, Debit, Credit, Reference, Name...) in English and Arabic. If yours are different, type their names and read the file again.
What if I import the same file twice?+
Nothing is added twice. OFX transactions are recognised by their bank identifier; CSV and Excel ones by their date, amount and label, including those typed by hand.
Can it set the account of each transaction?+
Yes. Import rules look for a text or an expression in the label, the partner or the reference and set the partner and the counterpart account, so the transaction is posted to the right account at once.
Does it reconcile the transactions?+
No. Odoo Community has no bank reconciliation screen. The transactions are posted to the suspense account, or to the account of a rule.
Does it create a bank statement?+
Optionally, with the starting and the ending balance: those of the OFX file, or computed from the last statement of the journal. You can change them before importing.
Does it work with Excel dates and numbers like 1.250,50?+
Yes: Excel dates, day or month first, decimal commas, thousand separators, brackets and trailing minus signs are all understood.
Does it work in Arabic?+
Yes. Arabic headers are recognised, everything is translated and works right to left, and the documentation is in Arabic too.
