Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data DevMarket collects when you browse, buy or sell, why we need it and what your choices are.

Last updated: Oct 9, 2026

1. Who is responsible

Taqnix runs DevMarket and decides how your personal data is used (the "controller"). To ask a question or make a request about your data, use the contact page and choose "Privacy request".

2. What we collect

  • Account: your email address, your name (if you give one), your password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form), your language and your notification choices.
  • Purchases: what you bought, when, the amount and currency, the billing name and country you entered, the invoice, the licence keys we issued and your downloads.
  • Reviews and saved items: the reviews you write and the items you save.
  • If you apply to sell: your seller profile, your legal name, tax number, country, website, the details of your bank account for payouts, your items, releases and the team members you add.
  • Messages: what you write to us through the contact page, with your name and email address.
  • Technical data: our servers log requests (including your IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure, limit abuse and fix errors.

We do not collect payment card numbers: payments are handled by payment providers, and we receive only the result of the payment.

3. Why we use it

  • To provide the marketplace (our contract with you): create your account, process orders, issue licences and invoices, give access to downloads and send emails about your account and orders, such as verification, password reset and a reply to your review.
  • To meet legal duties: keep accounting and tax records, answer authorities where the law requires it.
  • To keep the marketplace safe and working (our legitimate interest): prevent fraud and abuse, secure accounts, diagnose problems and improve the service.
  • To pay sellers: calculate and pay the sellers' earnings.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not send marketing emails. If that changes we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

4. Who sees your data

  • Sellers do not receive your name or email address from a purchase. They see that a sale happened: the item, the licence type, the amount, your country, the date and whether it was refunded. A seller can check the status of a licence key you show them. If you write a review, sellers and visitors see it with your first name and the first letter of your last name.
  • Service providers that work for us under our instructions: payment providers (to take your payment), our email delivery service, our hosting and infrastructure providers, and the business system that holds our orders, invoices and accounts.
  • Authorities and advisers, where the law requires it or to protect our rights, for example accountants, auditors or a court.

Some of these providers may be outside your country. Where that happens we use safeguards the law requires, such as contracts that oblige them to protect your data.

5. Cookies and similar storage

We use only what the marketplace needs to work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not load analytics or advertising scripts from other companies. Because of that we do not show a cookie banner.

  • Sign-in cookie: keeps you signed in. It is encrypted, not readable by scripts on the page, and ends when you sign out.
  • Cart cookie and currency cookie: remember what is in your cart and the currency of your cart.
  • Language cookie: remembers the language you chose.
  • Browser storage: the currency you choose for browsing is kept in your own browser. It is not sent to us on its own.

You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings; you will be signed out and your cart will be emptied.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account and as long as we need it for the reasons above. Invoices, orders and accounting records are kept for as long as tax and company law requires, even after an account is closed. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted. When we no longer need data we delete it or make it anonymous.

7. Your rights and choices

Subject to the law that applies to you, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to move it to another service. In your account settings you can change your name, password and notification choices.

To make a request, contact us and choose "Privacy request". We may need to confirm that the request comes from you. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

8. Security

We protect your data with measures suited to the risk: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, signed and short-lived requests between our systems, access limited to people who need it, and limits on sign-in attempts. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.

9. Children

The marketplace is not for children, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell you about important changes on the site or by email.
