1. About these terms
DevMarket is an online marketplace for software: Odoo modules, WordPress plugins, Shopify themes, app templates and scripts. It is run by Taqnix ("we", "us"). When you use the website, create an account or buy something, you agree to these terms.
They work together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Licence terms. Sellers also accept the Seller Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the marketplace.
2. Your account
You need an account to buy, to download what you bought, to write reviews and to keep saved items. You must be able to enter into a binding contract where you live, and the details you give must be true and kept up to date.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password, use "sign out everywhere" in your account settings and contact us.
We may refuse, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used for fraud or puts other people or the marketplace at risk.
3. Buying on the marketplace
When you buy, you buy a licence to use an item from us. The item itself is written and supported by its seller (the author). We take the payment, deal with tax, issue the invoice and the licence key, and give you access to the download.
- Prices. Each seller sets the price of an item in US dollars and may set it in other currencies too. Where a seller has not set a price in a currency, we may show and charge the seller's US dollar price converted at our exchange rate of that day, rounded to a convenient amount; a price a seller set in a currency is never converted. A seller may offer a sale price for a period: you pay the price shown at checkout, and a sale ends at the date shown. If an item in your cart cannot be bought in the currency you chose, the cart is shown in US dollars. The total, including any tax, is shown before you pay and is the amount you pay.
- Tax. Prices shown to buyers in Saudi Arabia include 15% VAT. For other countries the checkout shows the tax, if any, before you pay. Your invoice shows the tax we charged.
- Payment. You pay through a payment provider connected to our system. We never see or store your card number. An order that is not paid within a short time expires and nothing is charged.
- Delivery. Once your payment is confirmed you get a licence key and can download the item from your account. Your invoice is available there as a PDF.
4. Licences, updates and support
What you may and may not do with an item is set out in the Licence terms: in short, a Regular licence covers one end product or one production deployment, and an Extended licence covers use in a product or service you charge others to use.
Each item page states whether you get updates for life or while support lasts, and for how many months support is included. Support is given by the seller. If you cannot get an answer from a seller within the support period, tell us on the contact page and we will pass it on.
5. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy. A refunded purchase ends the licence for that purchase, and the download is no longer available.
6. Using the marketplace properly
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use the marketplace to harm anyone or to send them harmful code;
- share your licence key or downloads in a way the licence does not allow, or try to get a download you have not paid for;
- attack, probe or overload the website, or get around its security, rate limits or access controls;
- collect data from the website in bulk by automated means, other than search engines that follow our robots.txt rules;
- pretend to be someone else, or give false information to us or to a seller.
7. Reviews
Only buyers with an active licence for an item can review it, once per item. Write about your own experience and keep it honest and civil. Do not post personal data, advertising or anything unlawful.
Your review is shown with your first name and the first letter of your last name. By posting it you let us show it on the marketplace. Sellers can reply publicly. We may hide a review that breaks these rules; we do not remove reviews just because they are critical.
8. Items from sellers, and our role
Items are made by independent sellers. A person on our team reviews each release before buyers can download it, and we check that its archive is intact and safe to unpack. This is a quality check, not a guarantee: we cannot promise that an item is free of defects or security problems, or that it suits your purpose. Check the description, the compatible versions and the reviews before you buy.
If you find an item that is harmful, misleading or infringes someone's rights, use the contact page (choose "Report a problem with an item"). We may remove an item or suspend a seller.
9. Intellectual property
The marketplace, its design and the DevMarket name and logo belong to us or our licensors. Each item belongs to its seller or their licensors; you receive only the licence you bought.
If you believe content on the marketplace infringes your rights, tell us through the contact page with enough detail to identify the item and your claim, and we will look into it promptly.
10. The service and changes to it
We work to keep the marketplace available, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, pause or stop parts of it, for example for maintenance or security. We will not remove access to something you have paid for without a reason set out in these terms or required by law.
11. Our responsibility to you
We take responsibility for the services we provide: taking payments, issuing invoices and licences, and delivering downloads. Items and their support are provided by sellers and are supplied "as they are" unless the item page or the law says otherwise.
Nothing in these terms limits any right or liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example lost profit, lost data or business interruption), and our total liability to you for any claim about a purchase is limited to the amount you paid us for that purchase.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the marketplace at any time. To close your account or have your data deleted, contact us (choose "Privacy request"). Closing an account does not cancel licences you bought or entitle you to a refund; accounting records we must keep by law stay on file.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or the law. If we do, we will tell you why unless the law prevents us.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the marketplace or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you we will tell you on the site or by email before it applies. If you keep using the marketplace after that, you accept the new terms; if you do not agree, stop using it.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The courts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia can decide disputes about them, except that if you are a consumer, you keep any right the law of your country gives you to go to your local courts and to rely on its mandatory consumer protections.
Before going to court, please contact us: most problems are quicker to fix that way.
