Seller Terms

These terms apply to you when you apply to sell on DevMarket, in addition to the Terms of Service and the Licence terms.

Last updated: Oct 21, 2026

1. Who can sell

You can apply if you are an adult or a registered business that can enter into contracts, with a verified email address. You tell us who you are: a legal name, your country and, where you have one, a tax number. We review each application and may approve it, ask for more information or decline it.

A seller account can have a team. The owner is responsible for what the team members do and for keeping the list of members up to date.

2. Our relationship

You are an independent seller. We are the merchant of record: buyers buy a licence from us, we take the payment, deal with tax and invoices, issue the licence key and provide the download. You provide the item, its updates and its support. Nothing here makes you our employee, partner or agent.

3. What you must provide

  • Items you have the right to sell. You own the item or have every right needed to sell it under the licences on this marketplace. You tell us about any open-source code or other people's components in it and respect their licences.
  • An honest listing. The name, description, pictures, platform versions, price and the list of included files are accurate. Do not claim features, ratings, sales or certifications you do not have.
  • Safe software. No malware, hidden tracking, hidden data collection, backdoors or code that damages or locks a buyer's system. Anything that sends data to you or to others must be disclosed on the item page.
  • Your own content only. Descriptions use the marketplace's formatting tools and your own pictures. Raw HTML, scripts and styles are not accepted.

4. Review of items and releases

Every item, and every release of it, is reviewed by a person on our team before it goes live. A release replaces the current one only when it is approved. We may reject or remove an item or a release, with a reason, if it breaks these terms or the law, or if it is unsafe, misleading or does not work as described. You can fix it and upload again.

Review is a check on quality and safety, not a guarantee of your item and does not make us responsible for it.

5. Prices

You set the Regular and Extended price of your item in US dollars and, if you wish, in other currencies. A price you set is never converted or changed. In a currency you do not price, buyers may pay your US dollar price converted at our exchange rate of that day, rounded to a convenient amount; your price form shows the amount, and we may turn this off, in which case buyers pay in US dollars. You may set a sale price below a price, with optional start and end dates: while the sale runs buyers pay the sale price and see the price before the sale next to it. The price before the sale must be a price at which you genuinely offered the item, and we may remove a sale price that misleads buyers. Prices for buyers in Saudi Arabia include VAT. You are responsible for the tax you owe on your income.

6. Updates and support

You choose the update policy and the support period of your item. You agree to give the support you promise, in good faith and within a reasonable time, and to fix serious bugs and security problems in the versions you list as supported. If you do not, we may refund buyers (see below), hide the item or suspend your account.

7. Commission and earnings

We keep a commission on each sale. It is a percentage of the sale price without VAT. The rate that applies to you, and the hold period described below, are shown in your seller dashboard. We may change them for future sales and will tell you in advance.

Your earnings from a sale are recorded in your earnings ledger in the currency the buyer paid in. They are held for a period so refunds can be handled, and then become available.

8. Refunds

Buyers can get refunds under our Refund Policy. When a purchase is refunded, the licence ends and your earnings from that sale are reversed, including any that were already paid out: we may take them from your later earnings.

9. Payouts

You add the bank details for payouts in your seller account. You can request a payout when your available balance reaches the minimum shown in your dashboard. Balances in other currencies are converted to the payout currency at the exchange rate we use on the day, and we pay by bank transfer. Bank or transfer fees may apply. We may delay or withhold a payout if we suspect fraud, if the details are wrong or if the law requires it.

10. Taxes

You are responsible for the taxes on what you earn, and for any registration, invoices or returns the law of your country requires. If you give us a tax number we use it as you provided it. We collect and pay over VAT on sales to buyers as the merchant.

11. The licence you give us

You give us a non-exclusive right to show, promote, host and deliver your item and its description, pictures and name on the marketplace and in our marketing, and to issue licences to buyers under the Licence terms. You keep ownership of your item.

12. Conduct

  • Do not manipulate reviews, ratings or sales, or ask buyers for reviews in exchange for rewards.
  • Do not contact buyers to sell outside the marketplace or to get around our payments.
  • Reply to reviews politely and honestly. Do not share personal data of buyers that you learn through support.

13. Suspension and closing

We may suspend or close your seller account or items if you break these terms, put buyers at risk or the law requires it. You may stop selling by hiding your items; buyers who already bought keep their licences and downloads, and you must keep supporting them for the period you promised. After closing, earnings you are owed are paid out as set out above, less any refunds and amounts you owe us.

14. Responsibility

You are responsible to us and to buyers for your items. You will compensate us for losses and claims that come from your item infringing someone's rights, being unsafe, or from your breach of these terms, as far as the law allows. Our own responsibility to you is limited as stated in the Terms of Service.

15. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version and we will tell you about important changes before they apply. The law that governs them is the one in the Terms of Service. Questions: use the contact page and choose "Selling on DevMarket".
