Barcode Labels for Products for Odoo 19 documentation
A guide to the label sheets: layouts in millimetres, printing from the list, a product or a receipt, the start position, barcodes and access rights.

In plain words: You bought a box of A4 label sheets and Odoo prints one big label per page. Barcode Labels for Products prints many labels on one sheet: you tell it the size, the columns and the rows once, pick the products and the quantity of each, and print. A part-used sheet is not wasted: you say at which label to start.
Tip: Print from the product list, from a product, or from a receipt: the labels of what you just received are one click away.
What you get
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Label sheets | A layout in millimetres: label size, columns, rows, margins and gaps. Three A4 sheets come ready: 3 × 8, 5 × 13 and 2 × 7. |
| Three places to print from | The product list, a product form, or a receipt (the quantities received become the number of labels). |
| A quantity per product | Each product has its own number of labels; zero is ignored. |
| Start position | Begin at label 5 to reuse the free part of a used sheet; a small grid shows the labels in blue and the used places in grey. |
| Barcodes | Code 128, EAN-13 or QR, from the barcode of the product or from its internal reference. |
| What is printed | Name, price, reference and company: each can be shown or hidden. The price can come from a price list. |
| Checks | A product without a barcode is left out and named; a layout that does not fit the paper is refused. |
| Arabic | Everything is translated and works right to left. |

A label sheet
In plain words: Inventory → Configuration → Label sheets. Measure your sheet, or read it on the box, and enter the size of one label, the number of columns and rows, the margins and the gaps. Then choose what goes on each label.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Columns, Rows | How many labels across and down. |
| Label width, height | The size of one label in mm. |
| Top, left margin | The space between the edge of the paper and the first label. |
| Gap between columns, rows | The space between two labels; zero for labels that touch. |
| Barcode | Code 128, EAN-13 or QR. A code that is not valid for EAN-13 is printed as Code 128. |
| Barcode of | The barcode of the product, else its reference; or the reference only. |
| Draw the border | Prints a dashed line around each label: useful to test on plain paper. |
Tip: Test on a plain sheet with the border on, hold it against a sheet of labels to the light, and adjust the margins by half a millimetre until it matches.
Print labels
In plain words: Select the products in Inventory → Products, then Actions → Print sheet labels. On a product form use the same action; on a receipt it fills the quantities received.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Label sheet | The layout to print on. |
| Start at label | The place of the first label. 1 is the top left; on a sheet with six labels left, enter the number of the first free place. |
| Price list | Prints the price of a price list instead of the sales price. |
| Labels, Sheets | How many labels and how many sheets you will use. |
In plain words: Print gives a PDF of the sheets. Products without a barcode are named in a warning and left out.
The sheet
In plain words: This is a real PDF page: a 3 × 8 sheet where the first three places were used before, so the printing starts on the second row.
Who can do what
| Who | Can |
|---|---|
| Every internal user | Print labels and read the label sheets. |
| Inventory managers | Create, edit and delete label sheets. |
Arabic and right to left
Limits
| Limit | Detail |
|---|---|
| Up to 5000 labels | A single print is limited to 5000 labels. |
| Whole labels | The quantity is a whole number; a receipt line of 2.5 prints 3 labels. |
| One layout per print | To mix two sizes, print twice. |
| The barcode is the one of the product | The module prints barcodes; it does not create or change them. |
For developers
In plain words: Skip this chapter if you only use the module.
wiz = env['taqnix.label.print'].create({'layout_id': layout.id, 'skip': 4, 'line_ids': [(0, 0, {'product_id': product.id, 'quantity': 6})]})
wiz.label_count, wiz.page_count
wiz.action_print() # the PDF report actionTroubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The labels are not aligned with the sheet | Adjust the margins and the gaps of the layout; test with the border on plain paper. |
| The PDF is blank or cut | Print at 100% (actual size), not Fit to page. |
| A product is missing | It has no barcode (or no reference): the warning names it. |
| The barcode is a different type | A value that is not 13 digits is printed as Code 128 on an EAN-13 layout. |
Updating and removing
Replace the folder with the new version, restart Odoo and run -u taqnix_barcode_labels. Your label sheets are kept.
