Employee Loans & Salary Advances for Odoo 19 – Requests, Approval, Installments, Interest and Accounting
Loans and salary advances to employees in Odoo: request, approval, payment with its entry, a monthly installment schedule with optional interest, collection and a balance per employee.
An employee asks for an advance, HR writes it on a paper, and six months later nobody knows how much is still owed. Employee Loans & Salary Advances keeps it all in Odoo.
From request to repayment
The employee asks for a loan or a salary advance from their own session; HR submits it; an HR manager approves it
Pay the loan with one click: the journal entry is posted (employee loans account against the bank), on the date you choose
A monthly schedule of installments, with optional simple interest spread over them
Collect each installment by an entry: into the bank or cash, or to a payroll clearing account; the interest goes to its income account
The loan closes when the last installment is collected
Always know the balance
Paid, balance, overdue and next due date per loan; loans to repay on the employee
Installments to collect, overdue in red
A reminder before each due date
A figure for payroll: the installments falling due in a period
Rules
Longest loan, one active loan per employee, employees see only their own loans, only HR managers approve and pay.
Print
A statement with the schedule, what was collected and two lines to sign.

Frequently asked questions
Can employees ask for a loan themselves?+
Yes. An employee creates a request for themselves from their own session and submits it. They see only their own loans, and only HR managers can approve and pay.
What accounting entries are made?+
Paying a loan debits the employee loans account and credits the bank or cash journal. Collecting an installment debits the bank (or the account you choose) and credits the loans account for the principal and the interest account for the interest. The loan account is reconciled with the payment.
Is interest supported?+
Yes, simple interest: the amount times the yearly rate times the months of the loan, spread over the installments. Leave the rate at 0 for an interest-free loan or advance.
Can installments be deducted from the salary?+
The module does not compute payslips, but it gives the installments falling due in a period and lets you collect them with a payroll journal and its clearing account.
Can I limit the loans?+
Yes: the longest loan in months, and how many active loans an employee may have.
Does it remind me of the due dates?+
Yes. HR managers get an activity a few days before each installment falls due, once.
Can I print the loan?+
Yes. The statement shows the schedule, what was collected and lines to sign.
Does it work in Arabic?+
Yes. Everything is translated and works right to left, and the documentation is in Arabic too.
