Description

Know it is running low before it runs out

Stock-outs are quiet. Nobody notices that the chair is down to 2 until a customer wants 3.

Scheduled Low-Stock Email Alerts sends your inventory managers one email a day listing every product at or below its threshold, the most urgent first, so purchasing happens before the shelf is empty.

The daily low-stock digest email

The digest

  • Product, SKU, quantity, threshold and how many are missing
  • Red at zero, orange when low, most urgent first
  • A button that opens the live Low Stock list in Odoo
  • Sent once a day at the hour you choose, on the days you choose (every day, Monday to Friday, or Sunday to Thursday)
  • Silent on days when nothing is low, unless you ask otherwise
Settings: what counts as low

You decide what counts as low

  • A default threshold, a threshold per product, or the minimum of the product's reordering rule
  • Compare on hand, available (minus reservations) or forecasted quantities
  • Count all warehouses or only the ones you choose
  • Skip products that never had stock, and mark discontinued products “Never alert”
Arabic digest email, laid out right to left

Every reader in their own language

Each recipient gets the email in the language of their Odoo user. Right-to-left languages such as Arabic are laid out right to left, and the product names follow the reader's language.

From low stock to reorder before it runs out

Under control

  • Recipients: the inventory administrators, chosen users and extra email addresses
  • Send it now button to test, a log of every digest, and a live Low Stock list in Inventory → Reporting
  • One digest per company, with a once-a-day guard even if the server was down at the chosen hour

Frequently asked questions

How often is the email sent?

Once a day, at the hour you choose in the company time zone, on every day, Monday to Friday, or Sunday to Thursday. If the server was down at that hour, the digest goes out as soon as it is back, the same day.

What does “low” mean?

A product is low when its quantity is at or below its threshold. The threshold is the one on the product, otherwise the minimum of its reordering rule, otherwise the company default.

Who receives the email?

The users you choose, or by default all users of the group Inventory / Administrator, plus any extra email addresses you type.

Can I count only some warehouses?

Yes. Choose the warehouses in the settings; the quantities of those warehouses are added together. Leave empty to count all.

Will it flood me with new products that never had stock?

No. By default, products without any done stock move are ignored. You can also mark a product “Never alert”.

Does it work in Arabic?

Yes. Each recipient gets the email in their own language, and right-to-left languages are laid out right to left. The module ships an Arabic translation and Arabic documentation.

Does it order anything for me?

No. It warns people early. Your reordering rules and purchase orders stay as they are, and the module can use the reordering rule minimum as the threshold.

Do I need an outgoing mail server?

Yes. The email goes through Odoo's normal outgoing queue, so Odoo must be able to send email.
