Frequently asked questions
How is the age of the stock counted?+
First in, first out: the stock on hand is shared among the receipts, newest first, because the oldest were sold first. The age of a unit is the number of days since its receipt.
What is dead stock?+
A product with stock where nothing was issued and nothing was received for a number of days you set (180 by default). It is flagged in red and its value is added up.
Can I see the aging as it was last quarter?+
Yes. Choose a past date in As of: the stock on that date and its age on that date.
Does a transfer between warehouses make the stock younger?+
A transfer between two locations inside the selection does not. If you choose one warehouse, stock transferred in from another warehouse counts as received on the date of the transfer.
How is the value computed?+
The quantity times the cost of the product (standard price, or the average or FIFO cost Odoo keeps on it).
Can I change the age brackets?+
The brackets are fixed (30, 60, 90, 180 and 365 days). The days for dead stock are yours to set.
Can I print and export it?+
Yes: an A4 landscape PDF with a summary by bracket and an Excel file with every column.
Does it work in Arabic?+
Yes. Everything is translated and works right to left, and the documentation is in Arabic too.
