Cash Flow Forecast for Odoo 19 Community documentation
A guide to the forecast: creating one, your expected items, reading the periods, the graph and the printout.
Documents version 1.0.0Updated Oct 23, 2026
Start here
In plain words: The bank balance is fine today. Will it still be fine in three weeks, after payroll and the supplier payments, when two big customers have not paid yet? Cash Flow Forecast answers in Odoo Community: it starts from the cash you hold, adds the open customer invoices and subtracts the open vendor bills on their due dates, adds your own expected items, and gives you the balance week by week (or month by month), flagged when it falls under your minimum.
Tip: The forecast is built from your real open items: pay or collect an invoice and compute again.
What you get
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| Opening cash | Read from your bank and cash journals at the start date, or a fixed amount you type. |
| Receipts | The open customer invoices (and credit notes) placed on their due dates. |
| Payments | The open vendor bills (and debit notes) placed on their due dates. |
| Your own items | Payroll, a loan instalment, a subsidy, an annual insurance: anything not on an invoice yet. |
| Weeks or months | Choose the periods and how many (up to 104). |
| Overdue items | Counted in the first period, or shown on their own line. |
| Minimum balance | The periods and the forecast are flagged when the balance goes under it. |
| Partner filter | Limit the forecast to some customers and vendors. |
| Graph and print | The balance as a bar chart, and a printable forecast. |
| Drill-down | From a period, open the invoices and bills behind it. |
| Arabic | Everything is translated and works right to left. |

Create a forecast
In plain words: Open Accounting → Reporting → Management → Cash flow forecast and click New. Choose the starting date, weeks or months and the number of periods, a minimum balance if you want the alert, then Compute.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Fixed opening balance | Type the opening cash yourself instead of reading it from the bank and cash journals. |
| Open customer invoices / vendor bills / my expected items | Switch each source on or off. |
| Overdue items | Count them in the first period, or show them on their own line. |
| Only these partners | Limit the open items to some customers and vendors. |
| Minimum balance | Periods under it are red and the forecast gets a ribbon. |
Your own expected items
In plain words: On the Expected items tab add what is not on an invoice or a bill yet: a positive amount is money in, a negative one is money out.
Read the forecast
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Period / To | The first and the last day of the period. |
| Receipts | Open customer invoices due in the period, plus your expected money in. |
| Payments | Open vendor bills due in the period, plus your expected money out. |
| Net | Receipts minus payments. |
| Balance | The balance at the end of the period: the opening cash plus all the nets so far. |
In plain words: The magnifier opens the invoices and bills of the period. Lowest balance and the date it happens are shown at the top.
In plain words: Print gives the forecast as a PDF, with the opening balance, each period, the totals, the lowest point and a warning when the balance falls below the minimum.
