Straight-line (with the first month counted by days if you wish) and declining balance with a factor. Both keep the salvage value and put the rounding on the last line.
Each month debits the depreciation expense account and credits the accumulated depreciation account of the category. Post them by one click, all that is due, or automatically each day.
The depreciation up to the date is posted, the later entries are dropped and one entry removes the cost and the accumulated depreciation, records the proceeds and the gain or loss.
