Fixed Assets & Depreciation for Odoo 19 Community documentation

A guide to fixed assets: the categories, the assets and their schedules, the monthly entries, disposal, the PDF and access rights.

Documents version 1.0.0Updated Oct 23, 2026

Start here

In plain words: The van is in a spreadsheet, the depreciation is computed once a year by the accountant, and the entries are typed by hand. Fixed Assets & Depreciation brings the register of your assets into Odoo Community: each asset has its depreciation schedule, the monthly entries are posted for you, and a disposal makes the entry with the gain or the loss.
The register, the schedule of an asset and its disposal.

Tip: Set the accounts once in a category: every asset of that category follows it.

What you get

FeatureWhat it does
CategoriesThe accounts (asset, accumulated depreciation, expense, gain, loss), the journal, the method and the duration.
Straight-lineEqual monthly amounts, with the first month counted by days if you wish.
Declining balanceA declining factor; the schedule switches to straight-line when it is higher, and keeps the salvage value.
Monthly entriesPost each month by one click, everything that is due, or automatically each day.
DisposalSale or scrap: the depreciation up to the date is posted, the later entries are dropped and the entry shows the gain or the loss.
RegisterCost, depreciated, book value and next entry of every asset, with totals.
EntriesAll the depreciation entries by category and year, in a pivot.
ScheduleThe schedule of an asset in PDF.
ArabicEverything is translated and works right to left.
