Post-Dated Cheque Management (PDC) for Odoo 19 – Cheques Received and Issued, Deposit, Clearing, Bounce
Register post-dated cheques from customers and to vendors, follow them from registration to deposit and clearing, with the right accounting entries at each step. Bounced cheques reopen the invoices.
In many countries customers pay with post-dated cheques: a cheque you keep until the date written on it. Odoo has no place for them, so they end up in a spreadsheet.
Post-Dated Cheque Management (PDC) gives them one. You register each cheque, follow it from your drawer to the bank, and Odoo makes the right accounting entries at every step.
Received and issued
Cheques received from customers: draft, registered, deposited, cleared
Cheques issued to vendors: the same, without the deposit
Choose the invoices or bills a cheque pays: they show as paid when you register it, against a post-dated-cheques account
The money reaches the bank only when the cheque is cleared
When things go wrong
A bounced or cancelled cheque reverses the registration: the invoices are open again and the customer owes you again
Duplicate cheque numbers are refused; the entries are kept for audit
Due dates
A red Due flag, filters for what is due and the next 7 days
A task on the date to deposit a cheque, and a warning before an issued cheque falls due
An analysis by month and state, as a pivot and a graph
Accounts created for you
The first time you register a cheque, Odoo creates the two waiting accounts. Or choose your own in the settings.
Tested
25 automated tests: accounting entries of every step, partial and extra amounts, several invoices, deposit and clear, bounce and cancel, issued cheques, duplicates, due flags and the schedule.

Frequently asked questions
What is a post-dated cheque?+
A cheque dated in the future. You keep it until the date written on it, then deposit it. Until then the customer's invoice can be treated as paid.
When is the invoice marked as paid?+
When you register the cheque: Odoo pays the invoice against a post-dated-cheques account. The money reaches the bank account only when you clear the cheque.
What happens when a cheque bounces?+
Odoo reverses the registration: the invoices are open again and the customer owes you again. The reason is kept on the cheque.
Does it work for cheques I issue?+
Yes. Cheques issued to vendors pay the vendor bills when registered and leave the bank account when cleared.
Do I need to create accounts first?+
No. The first time you register a cheque, Odoo creates the two waiting accounts. You can also choose your own.
Will it remind me to deposit a cheque?+
Yes. On the date of the cheque a task is planned, and a task warns before an issued cheque falls due.
Can a cheque pay several invoices, or only part of one?+
Yes. A cheque can pay several invoices, part of an invoice, or be a payment on account.
Does it work in Arabic?+
Yes. Everything is translated and works right to left, and the documentation is in Arabic too.
