AI Comment and Review Moderator – Spam, Abuse & Fake Review Filter for WordPress and WooCommerce

AI Comment and Review Moderator checks every new comment and WooCommerce product review for spam, abuse, off-topic content, promotional links, personal data and, for reviews, signs of a fake or incentivised review. The AI gives scores and short reasons; your thresholds choose: approve, hold for moderation, mark as spam, or leave it to WordPress.
Safe by default
Starts in dry run: scores and logs, changes nothing, until you switch to Live
Never deletes and never trashes a comment; spam can be undone in one click
If the AI is down, too slow or the daily limit is reached, comments follow the normal WordPress rules

The AI only when needed
Your allow-list (trusted roles, readers approved before), blocked words and domains, links count, length, duplicates, a hidden bot trap and forum link codes are checked on your site first, without an AI call.
Never slows your visitors
Scoring runs in the background (Action Scheduler with WooCommerce, otherwise WP-Cron). A new comment can wait in moderation until it is scored, and moderators get their e-mail only if it is really held.
One queue
Needs review, flagged, waiting, spam and errors; one-click and bulk approve, hold, spam or score again; an AI explanation per comment; a column on the Comments screen; a log and statistics (with the number of times people disagreed, and a time estimate that does not claim accuracy).
Hardened and private
The comment is sent as data between random markers, links made harmless; the answer is validated (known scores and labels only) and the decision is computed by the plugin. Names, e-mail and IP addresses are never sent. No learning is claimed: the AI can be wrong, you stay in charge.
Your AI account, your costs
OpenAI-compatible (OpenAI, OpenRouter, Azure, Ollama...) or Anthropic, a daily request limit (200 by default), short answers.

Requirements

Frequently asked questions
Can it delete comments?+
No. The plugin only approves, holds or marks as spam. It has no delete or trash action, and uninstalling it never removes comments.
Will it change anything right after activation?+
No. It starts in dry run: comments are scored and logged, nothing changes. Switch to Live in the settings when the verdicts match your own decisions.
Does it slow down comment submission?+
No. Only cheap checks run while the comment is saved; the AI call happens in the background. Visitors never wait for the AI.
What happens when the AI is down or the daily limit is reached?+
The comment follows the normal WordPress rules (your Discussion settings), exactly as without the plugin. The error is logged.
Does it work with WooCommerce product reviews?+
Yes. Reviews get an extra score for signs of fake or incentivised reviews, using the text, the star rating and whether the buyer is verified. WooCommerce is optional.
What is sent to the AI provider?+
Only the comment text (links made harmless; e-mail addresses, phone numbers and IP addresses masked), the post or product title, the type and the star rating. Never the name, e-mail or IP address of the commenter. Nothing is sent to Taqnix.
Can a spammer trick the AI with instructions in the comment?+
The comment is sent as data, and the answer must be scores and a known label; the decision is computed by the plugin from your thresholds. An attempt to give instructions raises the spam score. No filter is perfect, so check the queue.
Is it accurate? Does it learn?+
We make no accuracy claim and it does not learn. AI can be wrong both ways; use the dry run, the thresholds and the queue. The statistics show how often people chose differently.
Does it replace Akismet?+
It works next to it: comments that WordPress or Akismet already marked as spam are left alone.
