What do I need to install it?+
Odoo 19 (Community or Enterprise) with Invoicing / Accounting, Odoo's UBL module (account_edi_ubl_cii) and the UAE localization (l10n_ae): they are installed with the module when missing. Accounting Pro is not needed. To run the official Schematron, the Python package saxonche must be installed on the server and a manager must download or upload the OpenPeppol PINT AE files once (they are not included). Without them, files are checked with the UBL 2.1 XSD only and show Not fully validated.
Does it send my e-invoices or report them to the FTA?+
No. It prepares and checks the PINT AE files and keeps them in an outbox. In the UAE model your Accredited Service Provider (ASP) sends the e-invoice to the buyer and reports it to the Federal Tax Authority. With the Manual connector you download the XML (or a ZIP) and give it to your ASP, then a manager records the ASP's answer in Odoo. Odoo's own Peppol service cannot be used for the UAE.
Is it certified, approved or an ASP?+
No. It is not certified or approved by the Ministry of Finance or the Federal Tax Authority, it is not an Accredited Service Provider and it is not a Peppol access point. A Valid status means that the local checks passed (the official XSD and, when installed, the official Schematron); your ASP validates every file again and only its answer tells you whether the e-invoice was accepted.
Which documents does it prepare?+
Customer invoices (380), credit notes (381) and documents whose lines are all outside the scope of VAT (480 / 81), in PINT AE Billing 1.0.4 (UBL 2.1), including exports and invoices in another currency (with the AED amounts and totals). Not covered: self-billing, profit margin scheme, free zone, summary invoices, continuous supply, disclosed agent billing, e-commerce, deemed supply, B2C and Point of Sale, early payment discounts, fixed-amount taxes and invoices with only exempt lines (blocked: ask your ASP). Vendor bills are not imported.
What is checked before a file is made?+
About 45 readiness checks per invoice: the document and the credit note reason, the seller (TRN format, TIN, legal registration, address, emirate), the buyer (emirate or region, TRN format, e-invoicing address), exports, payment means, every line and its PINT AE tax category, the 5% VAT within the official tolerance, and an estimate of the 14 business days deadline. Errors block the file, warnings do not. TRN and TIN formats are checked, not whether the numbers exist.
What is not confirmed by an official source?+
Who generates the UUID (the module makes a fixed one; the MoF guidelines say the ASP does), which TRN gives the TIN when your VAT and Corporate Tax TRNs differ, the text format of the AED total, the rate written on reverse charge lines, whether IssueTime is mandatory, and the business days used for the 14-day estimate. No ASP interface or real transmission was tested. Ask your ASP about these points.
Which dates apply to my company?+
Per the Ministry of Finance decisions listed in the module notes (Ministerial Decision 244 of 2025 as amended by Ministerial Decision 66 of 2026), as read on 29 October 2026: revenue of AED 50 million or more: appoint an ASP by 30 October 2026 and implement from 1 January 2027; other businesses: 31 March 2027 and 1 July 2027. These dates have changed before: check the current text on the Ministry of Finance website. The module is a preparation tool, not tax or legal advice.
Who can do what?+
Three groups are given from the accounting rights: Viewer (accounting read-only) opens the outbox and downloads the files; User (billing) also runs the checks and generates and validates files; Manager (accounting administrator) also changes the settings, records the ASP's answers, installs the Schematron and sends through a connector when one is installed. Users see only the documents of their companies, and the log cannot be changed or deleted.
Is it available in Arabic?+
Yes. The module is translated into Arabic and its screens work right to left; the user guide comes in English and Arabic. The XML files themselves do not depend on the language; the validation log is written in the language of the user who made the file.
