What do I need to install it?+
Odoo 19 (Community or Enterprise) with Accounting Pro 1.0.2 or later (taqnix_accounting_pro) already installed: this is an add-on of Accounting Pro and it does not work without it. No other app is needed, because every figure is read from the journal items. For a cost per customer and per product, the cost of revenue must be booked with the customer and the product, for example the cost of goods sold lines of the invoices or stock valuation entries.
Do the totals match my Profit and Loss?+
Yes. Revenue (the Income accounts, and Other Income if you choose it in the settings) and cost of revenue are read from the same journal items with the same function as the Accounting Pro Profit and Loss, for the same period and filters. What cannot be given to a customer, product or salesperson stays in a Not allocated or No product row, so the totals equal the Profit and Loss; with several currencies the rows share out the cents so that they add up exactly.
Where does the cost of a customer or a product come from?+
From the cost of revenue journal items that carry that customer or product, in the period of each item. Cost booked without them goes to Not allocated (no customer) or No product. For goods sold without any booked cost, the option Estimate missing costs adds the quantity sold × the product's cost today, in italics and apart from the Cost column; if the same cost is also booked without a product, the estimate counts it twice and the report shows a warning. The estimate is never posted.
How is a sale given to a salesperson?+
Revenue goes to the salesperson of the invoice, credit note or receipt. A cost entry that is not an invoice, such as a stock valuation entry, goes to the salesperson of its customer, so when an invoice's salesperson differs from the customer's salesperson, the revenue and the cost of that sale land on different people. Documents without salesperson, vendor bills and entries without customer are shown as Not allocated.
What is in the Executive Summary?+
One A4 page for the board: revenue, cost of revenue, gross profit and margin, operating expenses, net profit and margin, bank and cash, receivables, payables, days sales outstanding, days payables outstanding and cash cover, for the period, the previous period and the same period last year, with the change and green, amber or red lights for the two margins and the cash cover (levels in the settings), then the top 5 customers, products and expense accounts. In the PDF a long name ends with an ellipsis so that the summary stays on one page.
What does it not do?+
It does not share out operating expenses (gross profit only, not a net profit per customer or product) and it does not read sale orders, deliveries or stock moves: costs come from the journal items, each in its own period. Tags, countries and product categories are today's values. Only Profitability by Customer has comparison columns, and "all rows" stops at 2,000 rows. The year-end closing entries of the Accounting Pro Closing add-on are left out through a rule that add-on reads, but the two add-ons were not tested together. The Excel files were not opened in Microsoft Excel.
How is it different from the Taqnix module “Project Profitability”?+
That module stands on its own and measures each project (revenue, costs and margin, with the Project and Timesheets apps). This add-on needs Accounting Pro and measures the company by customer, product and salesperson from the journal items, with an executive summary, a rolling 13-month profit and loss and customer concentration in the Accounting Pro screen, PDF and Excel. They answer different questions.
Who can see the reports?+
Users with the Accounting Pro reports access (given with Odoo's accounting roles) open the six reports; the settings block is for accounting administrators, and scheduled reports need the Accounting Pro designer and schedules right. Each user sees only the companies they have access to, and the journal items behind a figure stay in those companies.
Is it available in Arabic?+
Yes. The add-on, its guide and its screens come in English and Arabic, and the screen, the PDF and the Excel file work right to left.
